Hello.

My name is Rivka,

As Holocaust survivors, my husband Berel and I have struggled to make a life for ourselves in Israel.

Our Escape

I escaped from Poland with my husband Berel when we were young. Language barriers and finding steady employment were always difficult, but the horrors of our past made it even more challenging to adjust to new surroundings.

When we finally made it to Israel, we thought our struggles would end. After all, this was our homeland, the land of the Jewish people. However, every day was a struggle. There were times when we went hungry, and we barely scraped by.

United Soup Kitchen

But then we found out about United Soup Kitchen. Each day, we were served hot meals by people with warm hearts. We no longer had to worry about where our next meal would come from. And the monthly groceries and cleaning supplies that USK provided us with meant we could keep our home clean and livable.

The relief that United Soup Kitchen has brought us is difficult to express in words. Imagine being able to provide this sense of relief to other survivors like us. It would make a huge difference in their lives.
